McKeenan Aviation proudly presents the Boeing 727-100C.

NOTE: Get the Demo version at the SLURL ( http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Waft/153/99/1847/ ), and try before you buy!

This is a mid-sized, dual role aircraft, carrying both passengers and/or cargo. Built between 1963 and 1984, this aircraft became the second most successful plane in history, with 1,832 units being produced. Innovative wing and flap design allowed this aircraft to land on short runways, opening up routes hitherto unavailable.

The McKeenan Aviation 727-100C has been designed to provide you with one of Second Life's most stable and robust aircraft in its size range. Months of testing and tuning has resulted in a plane that is easy to fly, yet will take some skill to totally master.

Scripts have been optimised to help with problem-free sim crossings, resulting is less crashes and latency issues. Our beta testers - comprising of a wide range of experienced pilots (including airport and airline owners) - have commented on the stability of the aircraft, even upon crossing successive Sim corners.

The handling of the aircraft is adjustable, allowing you to make the plane feel heavier or lighter, depending on your preferences.

The innovative triple slotted flaps and leading edge slats in the real aircraft have been reproduced in this model, giving the aircraft its distinctive profile when flaps are fully extended.

All in all, we believe we have produced a solid and reliable plane, able to handle passengers or cargo, or a mixture of both with equal ease. The forthcoming Cargo System add-on will mean that pilots can accept commissions to transport goods from airport to airport, earning pseudo payments and rising in rank whilst working within a delivery deadline. Be sure to deliver your cargo however, or late fines and reduction in rank could occur. You may also be offered lucrative payments for smuggling.... dare you accept?

We suggest you obtain the Demo 727-100C; this will allow you to experience the plane before you purchase. The Demo model only differs from the full plane in the fact that it's No Copy / No Mod / No Trans, and you can sit on the plane ONCE only - when you stand, the plane will delete itself.

My favorite Passenger Jet

It's a challenge to land this well (in the mid-high 90's) approach must be shallow into the runway, not a steep drop in like Dani planes. The flaps don't drop the plane as fast as Dani, but look awesome with spoilers and working fore planes. It takes paints nicely, I have even taken the 727 off, and landed it on a moving blimp runway, and landed it into narrow short island runways (Costner Bay). It's with great regret that McKeenan encountered such rotten people as would steal his profits making him regret building in SL to the extent of leaving and taking these fabulous aircraft with him.

While the cockpit controls don't work like Dani aircraft do (and others), the HUD is straight forward, and is used for all flight controlling anyway. The sound of the engines spooling down under 50 thrust is brilliant, the flaps, the landing gear, the working forklift and cargo doors, the GTFO ability (yes you have to add a couple of files to the plane to make GTFO work - follow the instructions in GTFO). A really good fun 1960's plane to fly. Brilliant.

Wish he posted his newer and larger cargo jets

I was looking for aircraft to use with the GTFO game and was trying to find large cargo jets and for the longest time Mick's 757 was the largest and what I was looking to buy .... I am using past tense here because sadly he appears to have left SL, his in-world store is gone and last I checked all the locations in his picks are bad and go to homes or other business. I was so hoping Mick would have uploaded his newer and large cargo jets before he left but sadly no luck there. I am still looking, but not found anything close as of yet to what his 757 could do in GTFO game... If this changes I would greatly appreciate someone letting me know.

Perfect and modifable plane. Really nice and works good. Sadly only for prim runways. Scripts doesnt work with sim terrain.

I've been nuts for all things Boeing since I was a child, to the point I have a twin engine Boeing flight simulator in my living room (which scares my landlord sometimes, hehehe). Flight simulation has its challenges, as does flight in SL. As big and complex as Mick's birds can be, sim crossings are fairly painless (as long as SL isn't bringing the pain with a upgrade rollout while you are in flight, lol). This and most of Mick's other planes leave "hud flying" way behind by making the experience as close to real world as you can handle within the constraints of SL. When university lets out I plan to recreate the airline livery my father worked at when he inspected and repaired the engines on the 727 series for his employer. The combi allows for GTFO! and hauling live self-loading cargo (passengers) in the same flight, a serious plus that will make this bird welcome at almost all airports. Great design Mick! I will be sure to only purchase through you or authorized vendors (the latter to support the airports), which I encourage everyone else to do to show your appreciation for what those dedicated to this aspect of our hobby put in with their time and creativity! -- Deb
