A Tattered Page* [*citation needed] is a new, in-store event based on works of literature. This round runs from November 7-30, 2014 and is based on the book "Frankenstein" by Mary Shelly. Designers read the book and create their event items based on the actual book, rather than movie or pop culture.
"Elizabeth" is based on the character Elizabeth Lavenza, who was adopted into the Frankenstein family as a companion and cousin to Victor. The two were inseparable growing up and Elizabeth became Victor's bride, only to be killed on her wedding night by the monster. She was described as being exceedingly kind and caring of the people around her, beautiful both in person and personality.
This dress is my take on the Regency style of clothing a woman of her station would have worn. The style with an empire waist and small, puffed sleeves was common at the end of the 1700s- beginning of the 1800s, which is when the book was written.
