Gautama Buddha or Siddhārtha Gautama Buddha (Sanskrit: सिद्धार्थ गौतम बुद्ध; Pali: Siddhattha Gotama) was a spiritual teacher from the Indian subcontinent, on whose teachings Buddhism was founded.[2] The word Buddha is a title for the first awakened being in an era. In most Buddhist traditions, Siddhartha Gautama is regarded as the Supreme Buddha (P. sammāsambuddha, S. samyaksaṃbuddha) of our age, "Buddha" meaning "awakened one" or "the enlightened one." Gautama Buddha may also be referred to as Śākyamuni (Sanskrit: शाक्यमुनि "Sage of the Śākyas"). The Buddha found a Middle Way that ameliorated the extreme asceticism found in the Sramana religions.

Great detail at high LOD but..
I agree with the previous reviewer that it is the best looking mesh buddha out there, however the various LODs haven't been properly modelled so the result is a 44 prim mesh at the standard height, and if you grow it to say 4m tall, it uses a staggering 250 odd prims. This could have been avoided by using less vertices in the mesh and setting the faces to 'smooth', and also providing lower vertices counts for the lower LODs, instead of the full mesh for the high, medium and low LODs, and just a triangle for the lowest.

I've looked long and hard, searched the Market Place and Second Life and this is the best I have found! Scales up or down beautifully! I have one in my home and another scaled way down in a pendant that has gotten many compliments. Wonderful work!
