A realistic train simulator system for Second Life!
This train will simulate torque, brake effort, traction, and it will require you to throttle up for uphill tracks, and brake when going downhill!
***Train Operator Handbook***
****************************
**How to use the train**
*********************
Rez the train near a track, that has guide prims, the train will snap to the guide prim of the track
Sit in the train, or optionally open the door and left click the driver seat, to sit in the driver seat
Click the train to get a menu dialog, you can use the buttons in the menu to control features, or get the hud for more features!
You can also rez railway carriages if you have any, they'll also snap to the track when rezzed.
Click the train's rear hook to toggle between seeking mode enabled or disabled!
In seeking mode, the hook will connect to another hook in seeking mode when close by to it
Use this to hook up the railway carriages to the train, or to another carriage!
**How to drive the train**
**********************
While driving the train, use the following keys for following results
W/Up arrow: Combined power handle up
W/Down arrow: Combined power handle down
E/PGUP: Reverser up
C/PGDN: Reverser down
The combined power handle controls the throttle and brake together, when your throttle is zero, it goes into brake notches, when brakes are zero, it goes into throttle notches
Reverser is what sets the direction of the train, the reverser states are, FWD, Neutral, RWD, reverser handle's positions are: forward is up, neutral is middle, and reverse is downward
During a simcrossing, it's possible the train object simcrosses faster than the avatar, and when it detects no driver, it does an emergency stop, and IMs an SLURL of its location to the user, if this happens to be a false positive, as it occurs and you are still sitting in the train fine, you have to stand up, and sit back down in the driver seat, to continue operating the train!
There is a known issue with simcrossings on mainland!
https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/BUG-231293
When simcrossing, if your towed carriages may get returned after it crossed, just go to a rez zone, and rez the carriage back, reset all scripts in it
Click the hook on the train to unhook the now nonexistant carriage, and click it again to turn on seeking mode, then hook up your carriage as normal.
When the carriage has been re-rezzed after such simcrossing return, it becomes "immune" to this issue, and will simcross fine afterward, until rezzed and taken while not on mainland.
The dashboard of the train is fully functional
Clickable interactions are
- Horn lever
- Sander
- Emergency Brake
- Interior Light
- Rear Light switch
- Front Light Switch
- Emergency Engine Stop
- Left Window
- Right Window
- Doors
- Breaker door
- Breakers
To turn on the engine of the train the realistic way, open the breaker panel box which is located next to the opposite of the driver side door, and turn on the two middle breakers, then turn on the red breaker on the right
Light switches are to be twisted towards the motion of the train, left is forward, right is backward, this governs which lights are going to be red, and which are going to be illuminating.

Best SL train i own
This train is highly customizable and i was able to pretty quickly but custom loads on it and haul them around mainland. i put aircraft fuselages onto the flat cars and was able to haul them around mainland after reading the note card provided to work around some SL related bugs so that was extremely helpful.
the train is very realistic to use and all the buttons work inside so its very RP friendly. although its realism can create issues at times because often SL rail roads are unrealistic and steeper grades can stop this train dead unless you get a run up so i wish it had a cheat menu for such instances.
the overall quality, realism, and mod friendly aspects make this my top pick for use on SL rail ways
Bit tricky but a fun SLRR train!
This train is a bit tricky to learn to operate and get used to. It's not just the same old SLRR scripts that LiTeRaLlY every other train in SL has. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because it is a little difficult to operate both via the HUD and by using the functional buttons inside the train. I did have one issue, the brake levers on the dash don't do anything when clicked. I've tried clicking every inch of them and click-holding for a few seconds and basically anything I could think of trying. It might be this is a problem that needs fixing in an update? Either way, this is a good and solid train that throws some fun curveballs! Pro tip - speed up before hills otherwise you will roll backwards down them! I would love to see some passenger coaches created for this train so I can pile in my friends to go for rides! I also hope this store will create some more civilian cars, either antique like the Truman Victory or more modern! 4/5 stars from me! :)
