These swords are based on the in game objects and the Concept art. This is the reason why some of them have materia Slots on them. These slots come with a changing prim that will respond to your FFCS2 HUD and slot the corresponding materia inside each one. However, due to some HUDS having less slots than the weapon, they might not be available. (4 slots on HUD, Weapon has 5, etc.)
Whenever you change materia, it might appear floating on both objects, sheath and hand pieces, so you just have to sheath/unsheathe again and problem solved.
