The concept of receiving answers driven by Directed Randomness has been with us for millennia. The Quiji Board, I-Ching, Dice, Tarot Cards, and the like have all utilized the principle of "Truth from Chaos" to attempt to give direction to a desperate and directionless humanity. Recently a new device has entered the ring with an interesting twist on achieving Truth.
To read this device, the user first directs three needles to point to certain symbols on the face of device to define a question. Then, the user holds the question in their mind, without grasping at the answer, but being content not to know - ensuring that the device will not give an anticipated answer, only a true one.
As the fourth needle swings around the pictures on the face, it will pause on one or more creating an answer of sorts. Presumably one the user will relate to or at least recognize. If the answer doesn't make sense at first, keep in mind that scholars skilled in the device's use would consult a plethora of tomes filled with imagery recorded with the intent of clarifying interpretive possibilities.
