Beehive general functionality:
The bees will go about there business of protecting the hive and traveling to different flowers looking very realistic and adding a great addition to your garden environment.
These Bees have been created with region resource usage in mind. They use a totally new feature for there movement that will not cause any noticeable sim performance loss at all. Even if your location is a high traffic area or you are concerned about using unnecessary resources I can assure you this beehive system will not use valuable resources even with over 30 bees rezzed.
The bees have a realism mode that can be enabled in the beehive options named Day/Night this option will make the bees go home at night and come out during the day.
Disturbing the hive will result in the bees that are around the hive at that time to fly towards the avatar that has made them angry. They will fly around that avatar giving the impression that are being swarmed. This will only last for one minute then the bees will return to ether the hive or traveling to flowers. (This option can be turned on or off in the beehive menu.)
Bee Counts (What is best for me?)
Bees = 1 prim or 1 Land Impact each.
Hive = 1 prim or 1 Land Impact.
Flowers = 1 prim or 1 Land Impact each.
You are only limited to how many prims your willing to allocate for each bee how ever the maximum is limited to 60. Here are a few examples.
5 bees plus the hive and 2 flowers is only 8 prims (This could be used for parcel sizes as low as 512sq meters) but then again it depends how many prims you are willing to allocate for each bee.
10 bees plus the hive and 8 flowers = 19 prims this is a great count for larger parcels and will add an amazing addition to any garden.
15 bees plus the hive and 10 flowers = 26 prims this is my recommended count. This is enough to create one spectacular bee filled environment.
Remember with all these above examples you can make use of the “Flower position marker” to save prims there is more detailed information in the downloadable instructions.
Main performance features
1. These bees do not use temp rezzing (So each bee will count as 1 prim) Over all its better to take the prim hit than to use unnecessary resources to rezz and keep re-rezzing each bee every minute especially if you own an region with a high traffic attraction).
2. These bees do not use physics there for they do not have the physics time impact on sim performance when using large amounts of moving creatures or pets. (I am not saying that physical creatures or pets are bad this is a misconception in some cases. But they can be in large numbers such as 30 or more.) What this system does is allow you to have a lot more flying bees with out the impact on the physics engine. Personally I’ve had 60 bees all flying around which by the way looks incredible and the script time has not gone over 0.190ms total.
3. If there are no avatars in the sim the entire bee hive system will go into sleep mode (Not that it really needs to but there is no need for things to be moving if there is no one to see it) In all this means that these bees are not just region friendly there also grid wide resource friendly.
Memory and script time information.
Each Bee uses 1 script that is 33kb in size and using around 0.002 ms Min 0.005 ms Max script time. 30 bees will use around 0.090ms script time and 990kb of memory. So basically the performance impact is not noticeable.
The hive its self has 1 script 35kb using 0.004 ms script time.
The flowers that are included do not use any scripts.
Flowers:
7 different flowers are included in this beehive package these are 1 prim each. They are modify however rescaling them or linking them together or to other objects could result in higher prim cost or land impact cost so be very aware of this I am giving you total responsibility.

Make SL come alive
I don't write many reviews but this product is so good I had to! I have used this on all of my sims from tropical to farms. Its super easy to set up and it gives your sim a real life feel. Place flowers all over your sim and the bees come to the flowers then back to the hive. I can't tell you how cool it is to be walking and see a bee fly by. Nothing makes the experiece more like RL

This is very cool and great for lands that need to bring life to the gardens!
