Bring the Christmas atmosphere to your home, shop or club with these strings of animated and static, colored light bulbs. Or use them as general party lights in other seasons.
The set includes:
- static xmas light strings in length of 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10 meter
- animated xmas light strings in length of 2,4 and 6 meter
- static xmas light cirles with diameters of 4, 6, 8 and 10 meter
- static xmas light squares with sizes of 4, 6, 8 and 10 meter
You have copy permission, so you can use as many as you want.
A lot of attention has been given to the details of the textures, for instance to make them near halo-free ("halo" is used to refer to the vague white edges you see on many semi-transparant textures, especially when seen from a distance.
Because of the limited size of SL textures, the resolution of the longest *blinking* string is slightly lower than the shorter ones. Unfortunately, animated textures can not be repeated, so it is not possible to use a high resolution texture and repeat it many times. The static strings, however, all have the same, high resolution.
The strings can be scaled to any size you like. If you want to scale them to very small size, remember to make the panels a little thicker as the mimimum dimension of any object is 1 cm. Remember to adjust the horizontal texture repeat factors when scaling.
Inside the blinking strings, there is a little script called "Animation". If you wish, you can modify the first line to change the speed of the animation. Currently, it is set to 2 frames per second. If you want 4 frames per second, change it to:
float Rate = 4.0; // number of frames per second
Just in case you wonder: there is no easy way to "synchronize" multiple strings.
Prim usage: 1 prim per string / square / circle

Wonderful decoration for your house !
Nice - And Yes, you sure can synch them :-))
Nice strings of lights - Well done.
The description says there is no easy way to synch them - but actually there is. Put out your lights, get everything adjusted and positioned where you want them. When they are just right, simply Edit one string, then hold shift while clicking the other strings until you have them all selected. Now all you have to do is in-world copy them.... Hold Shift and drag the objects you have selected. The new copies will be left behind, and in perfect synch. Just delete the ones you have selected and you're done.
