This isn't really a “tub”, it is a big blob of water that bobs up and down a few meters above the ground with bubbles rising out from the center and a pleasant sound. Clicking twice slowly on the tub causes your avatar to jump into the water with a splash and hang perpendicular to the surface. Up to 15 avatars can jump on at once! Once in the water you can move around the tub with the motion controls. As you move your avatar will be animated to make swimming motions. The jump-up or crouch-down controls make your avatar sit higher or lower in the water, so you can adjust your position for any sized avatar. If you reach around to left-mouse-touch on a different location on the tub, your avatar will jump there immediately. Put your viewer in mouselook mode and swim around the hot tub for fun views of your sim upside down or sideways!
For more water related items, come to my Ocean Engineering Store, Panthalassa (131, 120, 43). There is a hot tub set up in front of the staircase and another outside so you can try it out!
Best Location for an Anti-Gravity Hot Tub:
The tub will work almost anywhere there is room. Because it is 5 meters in diameter and bobs up and down, it must be placed outdoors or in buildings with high ceilings (10 meter ceilings recommended). When it is rezzed it jumps up two meters off the ground. You can drag the tub to a new location and it will continue working, although you have to move it more than 2 meters up or down and hold it there for a few seconds before it gives up bobbing at the previous altitude. Since the tub is COPY, you could just delete the old one and rez a new one at a new location.
Jumping on the Hot Tub:
The first time you left-click on the tub, it remembers where you touched and sets you up to land there. The second time you click, it seats you in the water where you last touched. The cursor will change from the hand icon to the sit icon between the two clicks. If several people are clicking on the tub at the same time, the cursor may change back to the wrong icon and you will have to try again. After a few seconds of inactivity, the cursor always returns to the hand icon and waits for the first touch again.
The very first time anyone clicks on it, the tub will offer a notepad with instructions. It won't badger you about this again.
Sometimes when you jump into the hot tub, your avatar goes into the default chair sitting position. When this happens, tap on any of the motion control keys to get back into the custom animations.
The Anti Grav Hot Tub is a Second Live vehicle using physics to bob up and down smoothly. Like any other vehicle in SL, if anyone selects it with the build tools or even just brings up the menu by right-clicking on the tub, it will stop moving. If the tub stops bobbing, tell all your friends to let go and allow the tub to move again! A maximum of only 15 people can sit in the tub at once.
Swimming in the Hot Tub:
The normal movement controls will swim your avatar around the tub, plus a few extra tricks:
- up-arrow or 'w' will move your avatar forward around the tub
- left-arrow or 'a' will turn your avatar to the left
- right-arrow or 'd' turns your avatar to the right
- page-up or 'e' makes your avatar jump up to sit a little higher out of the water
- page-down or 'c' makes your avatar move down a little deeper in the water
- left-clicking anywhere on the surface of the tub will make your avatar jump to the location you touched
In mouselook mode (press 'm' or zoom into your avatar with the mouse scroll wheel), the controls work a little different:
-up-arrow or 'w' will move your avatar forward around the tub.
-Sliding the mouse left and right changes your view and the direction you will move.
-left/right controls discombobulate your avatar and turn you to strange angles! Tap on the forward key to straighten back up.
-If you have “Show Avatar in mouselook” checked in the Preferences>Input&Camera page, you will see your arms swimming in mouselook mode.
Lag Issues:
The AntiGrav HotTub uses vehicle physics to bob smoothy up and down. Vehicles are harder on your sim than non-physical objects. Although it is COPY, if you make too many copies they will bog your sim down. If this happens, delete some of them until your sim recovers.
