Weimar! Presents;
Antique Icebox
---------------------

Avoid disappointment, read everything below and come see item inworld before buying!

*ABOUT THE OBJECT:
When the first commercial refrigerators became available to the public in the 1920s, they were very expensive and only a few people could afford them.
Most households would not get one till the 1950s, especially in Europe it took a while before they became common.
Up till that time people depended on Ice boxes, simple wooden chests with a space for a block of ice that would be home delivered every so often.
This icebox is based on a Victorian original but would remain in use by countless people for several decades into the 20th century.
It has two doors that open and it actually has melting ice!
You can see the ice block get smaller and smaller and when it is gone you will have to buy a new Ice block.
Ice can be bought from the horse and cart outside the Weimar shop in Vintage Retro and on Friedrichstrasse in 1920s Berlin.
If you don't want to buy new ice all the time, follow the instructions below.

*THANKS
Thank you very much Beq Janus for helping me out with the scripts.

*ABOUT ME:
I am a Dutch woman obsessed with history, in RL I am a researcher.
Europe in the first half of the 20th century, inspires me especially Germany during the Weimar Republic (1918-1933).
The objects I create are especially made for The 1920s Berlin Project sim where many of the tenants often have to live in small houses and bad neighbourhoods.
More below.

*SCALE:
Most avatars and Sims in SL have a totally unrealistic scale.
My avatar is about 6ft, just like I am in RL, compared to most avatars in SL I look like a child.
I build a sim in a more realistic scale and compared to SL in general things here are small.
That means that the objects I make are made for realistic avatars, if they seem small to you this probably is because you are big.
However, you can make these sofas bigger and adjust the animations to fit any size of avatar.
But because they are mesh, the land impact may go up when you enlarge them.

*ABOUT MESH
If you make Mesh items bigger, they will usually start having a bigger land impact and cost you more prims.
The item should look good but from a certain distance it may look distorted.
To make sure you see mesh in SL at well as possible, you may need to change the settings of your viewer.
This generally isn't needed but if you think that mesh often looks a bit bad, you may try this;
-In Preferences set your 'Objects & Sculpts LOD' (may be called differently depending on your viewer, but look for LOD) to its maximum setting of 4.

full star empty star empty star empty star empty star Posted January 23, 2017 by Francine Brandi

the ad says itis copy/mod however it is not copyable due to the scripts
being no copy. So if I delete the Melt Script it will
