Behold the first and ONLY board of its kind in all of Second Life!
Tired of having to zoom all the way in on your board to figure out where you are in the bracket?
Tired of clicking a tiny prim to advance players forward?
Tired of having to figure out a person's Display name from their User name?
Tired of having to call READY and then Countdown and FIGHT for every. single. match!?
Tired of having to point out to players where to Join your tournament and all the other hullabaloo that goes with running a board?
THEN THIS IS THE BOARD FOR YOU!
This board is Copy and MOD so you can customize it to suit the theme of your sim!
This board supports any number of players from 2 to 32!
It supports single elimination AND "Best of 3" style tournaments!
How does it work?
1.) Players grab a HUD from the base object and wear it.
2.) The tournament director Opens the registration from a menu by clicking the base.
3.) Players hit a Join button on their HUD.
4.) When everyone has entered, the tournament director Closes registration with the same menu as before.
5.) The tournament director sits back, puts his or her feet up on the desk and lets the board take care of the rest.
Automatically handles byes in the most fair way possible.
Players use the HUD to signal when they're ready and the board will automatically give them a 3-second countdown and order to fight.
Rez your board, configure the notecard with the names of the people you want to have access to it, and it's ready to go!
This board was created by a veteran of hundreds of tournaments and is designed with both players and tournament directors in mind. It's low-lag, low-prim, easy to use, menu-driven, and customizable.
FAQ----------------------
Q: "This board is laggy! Look at all those... prims and... stuff going on! Are you sure it's not the board's fault I lost!?"
A: I am absolutely positive and would bet any amount of money. The board runs on .018 milliseconds of time dilation during matches. Even in full use during initial player seeding, it runs on .35 milliseconds of lag. You, human, are unable to distinguish such a miniscule amount of time. The board was created using special listen controls and link messages only active on a few scripts at a time. I assure you the effect it has on sim resources is less than that of your fancy weapon and flowing hair. You lost because the other player was better in the clutch. Quit crying and deal with it.
Q:"Scripts cause lag! Do I have to wear this HUD during my match?! It will make me lose! I swear! I will lose and it will be totally this HUD to blame!"
A: The amount of misinformation about the causes of lag is staggering and few groups are more misinformed and antsy on the subject than tournament players. Your HUD runs on .005 milliseconds of time dilation. (Pic above) That means it would take TWO HUNDRED players on the sim wearing the HUD to create a single millisecond of lag. "BUT IT USES LISTENERS AND THOSE CAUSE LAG," you cry. Go read this: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/LlListenControl and then read this: http://analutetia.com/2009/06/22/anatomy-of-lag/ and then put your HUD on and like it because it's making your tournament experience a lot better. Change is good. Adaptation is better.
Q: "How come I can't see the awesome Ancient Swahili character I put in my display name on your board?"
A: There are literally thousands of possible characters in a display name and I cannot account for all of them. I can account for a few hundred but there are many I'm missing. Besides, that character is probably scarcely legible.
Q:"I crashed during the tournament! Will my HUD still work?"
A: Yup/Yes/Si/Aye
Q: "Your board is amazing. I love it so much I want to buy ten."
A: You know what I heard? My board loves you too.
