The purpose behind creating this temp object/scene viewer was to use as a demo for the builds on sale at Trinity Medieval Role Play and as a solution for clearing up afterwards....

I have kept prim count low by making the object viewing panel just 4 prims. The viewer can be used to move objects/scenes of any size from one part of a sim to another. (The objects in a scene will move relative to the viewer). Once an object has been viewed you can simply pack it back into the viewer at the touch of a button. Great for packing large builds and to use as a product viewer for potential customers. The viewer will rez a full working copy of your build for customers to check out before they buy.

Your pack should contain: Atlantis RP 3D Temp Object Viewer V1.0
Object Script A V1.0
Object Script B V1.0
View Object Container V1.0

Your objects must be mod and copy for the system to work.

a). To use your Temp Object Viewer drag it from your inventory to the ground. Rez the item you wish to pack in to the viewer in the position you wish for it to appear. E.g. 10m in front, behind or to the side of the temp rezzer. Dont worry if this is not the location you want the object to remain in, the purpose of this preperation is just to set the distance your object will appear from the rezzer in the future.

b). Link together as many of the objects in your build as possible to allow it to rez faster later on. For each object in your build, copy in order first “Object Script A” and then “Object Script B” into their contents. To do this right on the object and select edit to open SL's editing menu, then drag the scripts from your inventory to the contents screen. NOTE: (If all the objects are linked you will only need to do this once).

c). Take your newly scripted items into your inventory (by right-clicking it and selecting “Take”).
NOTE: Do not select multiple objects and take them all into your inventory in one go, take them one at a time unless they are linked.

d). You are now ready to pack your items into the object container. Rez the container to the ground, right click on it and select edit to open SL's editing menu. Select the content tab and drag the newly scripted items from your inventory to the content window.

e). Take the now full container back into your inventory and rename it something that represents the item you placed inside. Keep the name under 10 characters if possible, as it is used by the Temp Object Viewer when giving you the menu of available builds later on.

*I M P O R T A N T*:Before placing the container in to your viewer, you will need to change its description. In your Iventory right click on your full container, select Properties and change the Description to “live” (without the quotes). This activates the container so that it automatically rezzes all its contents and deletes itself.

f). To place the container into your viewer, right click on the Temp Object Viewer you rezzed earlier and enter SL's editing facility, select the content tab and Drag the container from your inventory to the content window as before.

f). So that you are able to use more than one viewer in the same sim, I have edited the scripts global constants housed in each of the viewers and included 3 in this pack. I will be adding a random channel to the next build so that this is no longer necessary.

YOUR VIEWER IS NOW READY ENJOY!!!!

Next time the Temp Object Viewer is clicked, it will automatically detect the new container and add it to the menu. To rez your object, select the button from the menu that appears with the name of the object you wish to rez. Once the object container has rezed your objects, it will vanish.

MAKING A BUILD PERMANENT:

Once rezzed, remove Object Script B. Now when selecting "Clear” or when a new scene is chosen, this object will no longewr be deleted or re packed.

LIMITATIONS:

NUMBER OF OBJECTS STORED:
Builds may be made up of any number of objects, the more objects there are, the longer it will take to rez. This viewer has been made to hold eleven builds as the twelth button that appears on the blue drop down menu when the viewer is clicked will always say 'Clear'.

A huge thank you to Troy McConaghy who's Holo-Emitter System this is based on, a great big thank you to Muniki Kimagawa for all her patients and helping me understand the scripts and thank you to Lillith Reanimator for her excellent PS skills.
