Among the many rooms in the king's private apartments in the palace of Versailles one can find the Cabinet d'angle du Roi, the monarch's personal working study.
Even though it was a private room outside the State rooms, the furnishings found were of the highest quality, such as perhaps the most famous 18th-century furniture created, the Bureau du Roi, which took 9 years to complete.

The "Aumont" collection brings together the major pieces from this room, along with others found in the private studies of the great aristocrats from the ancien régime.
In a rococo and transitional style, the collection is composed of 21 different pieces:

A large cylindrical desk
A large rococo secretary
A flat desk
wall sconces
a carpet
a stool
a floral painting
a rococo chest of drawers
a rococo chair
a pair of Chinese vases
a folding screen
a fireplace screen
pendulum clock
curtains
a desk set; inkwell and document holder

a pair of bagatelles in agate and gold exclusive with the purchase of the complete collection

A sumptuous room, which exudes sufficiently faded grandeur. Encore!

The ruby red silks and shining gilding are so beautiful. Every single item is stunning beyond words. Not a single detail is overlooked and this collection truly stands out and shines.
