This is a heavily revised and enhanced version of my Koef diesel engine, which has been totally redone in order to act as an automated freight train on SLRR tracks.
That´s right, this locomotive is able to operate driverless. You just mount her, have her rez the 3 carriages by chat command "CarriageRez" if desired, and get her up to the desired speed, then jump off and see your train head for the horizon...
Intense SLRR script modification has made this possible, and some other details were changed also:
- speed is limited to 0.15 to give you a realistic experience, and speed increments are now 0.05
- an authentic and automated whistle was added, fitting with this kind of engine
- same with engine sounds - deep, meaty, rumbling, recorded by myself from an historic diesel engine in Germany
- of course, different sounds for idle and drive
- cars have their own typical sound also
- realistic diesel smoke, also different for idle and drive load
- headlights and taillights are exact reproductions of the real things (in fact, I examined a real RL Koef on site to take pictures of them)
Of course, you can still operate the loco the old fashioned way by just sitting on it and enjoying the ride.
The train has 3 cars in order not to overwhelm your typical sim by prim load. However, this train runs with up to 9 cars in the New Bastogne sim complex - custom orders are gladly accepted.
