The Abune designer had been pleading for an airplane clock, and the Abune clockmaker finally said he'd build it on one condition — we'd name it for the most famous aviator from his English hometown, Kingston upon Hull. Her name was Amy Johnson and she was the first woman to fly solo from Britain to Australia, in 1930.
