The open concept emerged in 1990 in New York City when old buildings used as industries or large offices were transformed into residential environments.
To make the property viable without major investments, the idea arose to integrate the living room, dining room and kitchen in a single plan.
As a result, the environments were open and better viewed, mainly because were divided by furniture or objects.
The idea grown up and gained space around the world.
