Full disclosure: I did not create this mesh. However, it is licensed. All scripts inside are 100% custom-written and my own creation, meaning that these are not "kit" scripts - all are written from scratch.

They say if you don't like something or think you can do it better then do it yourself. So I did. I have purchased a LOT of boats, many are the best you can find in SL, and I love them. Though there always is that itchy feeling that something doesn't work the way it should or you'd like it to.

So let us dispense with the used car salesman routine about how the hull is finely-crafted fiberglass for the slickest movement on the water or how the upper body is the most beautiful mahogany wood that can be found. This is SL, and that's all nonsense. Though the boat is a beautiful model with a lot of attention to detail, it is still a practical one.

What matters more than anything else is how it feels when using it. And that's what this is all about. In short: I highly recommend you grab the demo (see top right of this page for the link or peek at related items below).

So let's just get down to the features:
First is what is NOT here:
- no moving propellers, doors, hatches, steering wheel, rudders, etc. - these just add more scripts for things you'll rarely see or use.
- No internal walkabout areas, this is a day-boat for having fun, and that fun is while it is moving, not floundering about looking pretty.
- No adulty PIXELSEX animations (ZOMG, NOOOO!!!11!!1!) - This is a day-boat for having fun, not frolicking around. Is nothing sacred in SL anymore? But more importantly: I want a G-rating so that buyers can be assured this is for family-friendly fun, and anyone can buy it, including those not able to see 'Adult-Rated" marketplace listings. (Yes, yes, yes, yes, there will be an "Adulty" add-on in the future).

What IS in there:
- All controls via keyboard except for starting and stopping the engine.
--- Throttle: Pg-UP and Pg-DOWN, Horn: Up-Arrow, Anchor (moor): Down-Arrow, Steering: Left/Right arrows.
- Velocity-based rudder. No more spinning about like a dog in heat while stationary; steering power is affected by speed.
- Boat turning-bank is velocity-based. No more leaning boat turns while moving at 2 knots, while a nice lean at 10 knots.
- Slipping: Slip sideways left or right while floundering (stationary) - great for getting that perfect dock position.
- Reverse. Perhaps odd that I mention this, but it seems not all SL motorboats have this.
- Sliding: When a car takes a turn too fast it will skid sideways as momentum dictates, even on a hard road surface. Water is slicker than snot, so go figure. Try the demo, and you'll know what I speak of.

Speaking of momentum, water, being slipperier than ice, does not leave a way for breaking, save for shifting into reverse to slow down. You cannot drop anchor (moor) until you are slow enough to do so. No more chatting "MOOR!" and your boat going from 10 knots to zero in a fraction of a second. This boat will drive like and handle like a real boat would on real water. So learn to slow the fark down before coming up to that shoal or dock or whatever. It will take practice to dock this thing properly. Because the hull is made of the finest-crafted fiberglass for the slickest movement on the water. *Chuckles*

I could go on and on and try to describe the efficiency of scripting for awesome sim-crossings, or how you will love the way the boat wake flows over the water and all that nonsense. The simple fact is everyone experiences these things individually, so you can rely on the demo to determine these aspects yourself.
