Got this for RP
Finding good-looking automatic shotguns for a sci-fi setting is actually pretty hard, with the marketplace mostly featuring pump-actions shotties. Grabbing this was a no brainer.
However, even for RP purposes, it's a little tedious.
Gun works fine. Shoots and all the commands work. I wish it sounded a bit more aggressive, but that's not something that has impacted the rating of the product. What HAS hurt the rating is:
In the manual, it says that if you want to change the skin, you need to enter the 'provided UUID'. I searched everywhere for the UUID and I couldn't find it. I just wanted to change the skin of my weapon to the simple black shine that the advertisement shows, but I couldn't find that. I had to dig through my inventory for a similar color or pattern to make it work, and that extra effort just to get a black weapon was kind of meh.
For what it's worth: it's cool that you can change your weapon's skin to whatever texture you want, but... the lack of a provided UUID and making me have to work for it has hurt the final rating. Not everyone is going to have a texture to get that black shine they want, so the UUID for that appearance should at least be included in the manual for future buyers.
The second issue I have with it is: when you attach the weapon, or you load into SL with it attached, it will always automatically draw itself. I'm sure if you're a dedicated SL combatant, having it automatically drawn is convenient... but even if I detach the weapon itself and only try to use the slung back item, the back item disappears as soon as I put it on. And since it's no mod, I can't remove the script to just keep the weapon in place there.
No modify disallowing removal of scripts, lack of texture UUIDs, the extra effort to get a skin that looks good, forced to rely on a resize script, and having to type sling every time I log in or change avatars... the experience has made this weapon feel pretty tedious overall.
Pretty amazing model, but
Sadly the bullets are capable of going through every single part of a sim. If you're doing combat, this thing is really bad on it, but is a amazing looking model.
