This HUD will let you use many of the more commonly used Bandit 280 R (and X) chat commands, without the hassle of having to remember them.
While it will work for both the 280X and 280R, the 280X doesn't have as many commands as the 280R. 280X owners won't get all the benefit of this, they can either remove buttons to suit or just live with buttons not working. The 280X doesn't listen for the following commands:-
fuel
prop 1
prop 2
engine (the hatch command)
I'm also not sure if the adjust pose commands work on the 280X work either. The demo boat certainly doesn't seem to listen for them at the time of writing.
My recommendation is not to buy this for the 280X, but hey, it's your money!
Simply attach it to a convenient HUD location. Note that the minimize function will only work when attached to lower left, upper left, lower right or upper right HUD locations.
When attached to lower/upper left or right HUD positions it will automatically place itself so that it appears on screen. It can't know what you might have on the screen borders already, so you may need to move it up or down to clear chat windows or minimaps or AOs or whatever else appears on the side of your screen.
Once attached, simply press the button for the command you want to issue to your Bandit 280.
Yes, the 280 does listen for a horn command. Mine didn't have a horn sound in it, but dropping a sound called 'horn' in to the contents of the root prim gets you a horn :)
If the you use the button without dropping a sound file call 'horn' in to the boat, you'll get a script error. At least mine did. Analyse knows about this and may have fixed it by the time you read this.
You can either use a sound file you have already, perhaps from another boat, or use the one I've supplied with this HUD.
Mod/Copy, very flexible and easy to adapt with a modicum of skill. You can move/add/remove buttons, and retexture the HUD. You can even change the chat commands used by renaming the buttons (retexturing highly recommended then!). Includes a full perm button texture for modding.
