This softbox is copyable, so you can use as many as you need. It's pure utility for the prim concious, and there are no extra doo-dads anywhere; each fixture will only cost you 2 prims.
To turn on and off, simply touch.
If you don't see objects around the softbox being illuminated, go to:
Preferences --> Graphics --> Check the Custom box
Under "Lighting Details" near the very bottom, tick the "Nearby local lights" bullet.
Try these lights under various environmental settings
World --> Environmental Settings --> Environmental Editor (or Midnight for simplicity)
If your light seems harsh, move it farther away. It has a range of up to about 10m.
