This gizmo can position your avatar up to 300m from the location you rez it in the pose/animation of your choice (drowned animation included).
The log is just a reference point so you can locate the prim when far away to fine tune your avatar positioning. It is shaped as so to be less obvious.
Rez it, align the arrow in the desired direction, set your desired distance and Go!
Good gizmo for pranks, you could be walking on water way off sim and laugh at your friend trying to do the same.
