Textures used in art are very important. I like the rustic and weathered look of wood for paintings and this piece of art is a fine example. This painting of a Lilly flower is further enhanced with the wonderful texture of the board it is painted on... I like it, I hope you do too. NOTE that I transfer the texture to the sides of most of my newest art for the very real 3D effect. Check out the side photos.
