Has this ever happened to you?
When you have just finished texturing a complicated mesh object linkset, it contains a lot of different textures such as normal map and specular map, has image based lighting, blend mode and everything, woot it must be a masterpiece!
And suddenly, oh no, you found a little bug. Now you need to reupload the whole object , and texture everything from beginning again!
Yes there is a simple copy/paste texture data feature in firestorm viewer, but it's limited. Only if someone makes a… clone system?
Well this is for you!
★ Support:
An object is constructed from a single mesh, prim, or a complex linkset combined from them.
★ Features:
- [Beeta] Advanced Clone System - {Dumper}:
The dumper will record all texture data, object features such like the light and its textures. Based on object names. Dump them into a notecard.
- [Beeta] Advanced Clone System - {Applier}:
The applier will read these data from notecard, and apply to the new object linkset, based on object names.
★ How to use:
1. Put dumper into the object or linkset root prim.
2. Copy the dumped data into a notecard. The notecard needs to be prefixed with "dump."(Both upper and lower case are supported), such as "dump.clothes", "DUMP.tree", "DuMp.CAR", etc.
3. Put the notecard and the applier into new object or linkset root prim.
★ Note:
If the object is a linkset, please make sure that each component has a unique name.
This system uses the debug channel, please be within 20 meters of the object.
- Dump face data from linkset
- Apply data to linkset
- Transfer face data
- Backup face data
A powerful tool for mesh creators
Making good quality mesh items today is a very complicated work. You need to deal with a lot of objects, materials, textures, parameters in a linkset. And this tool can help you optimize your working pipeline and speed up your workflow.
For example, you just spent 10 mintues to assign materials together for your new boots like metal studs, leather, shoelaces, and socks. And woops , then you found a little bug on rigging! You need to reupload the whole boots into SL again. The rigging bug might be very tiny but you have to reassign everything all over again!
And this tool is very useful in that case. You can copy & paste materials from old version to new, and continue with your work. It's a timer saver, and everything that able to save you some time, is always a good tool.
