Bell 407 Jet Ranger Version 1.2
Bell 407 Jet Ranger
Fore more visuals watch the video below.
The Bell 407 is a four-blade, single-engine, civil utility helicopter; a derivative of the Bell 206L-4 LongRanger. The 407 uses the four-blade, soft-in-plane design rotor with composite hub developed for the United States Army's OH-58D Kiowa Warrior instead of the two-blade, semi-rigid, teetering, rotor of the 206L-4. The Bell 407 is frequently used for corporate and offshore transport, as an air ambulance, law enforcement, electronic news gathering and movie making.

Flight Controls:
Page Up increases Collective, above 50% ascending
Page Down decreases Collective, below 50% decends
At 50% collective the helicopter has a automated passive altitude control (governor) prohibiting the helicopter to loose to much altitude during maneuvers.
Using the p in chat command or Hold Altitude or P on the HUD it will actively hold your altitude at the height activated.
Arrows left and right will make the aircraft turn at 0% - 10% cyclic, or turn and bank when cyclic is 15% or higher.
Arrows shift left and right will make the aircraft strafe left and right at 0% cyclic or turn and bank when cyclic is above or below 0%.
Arrows Forward and Reverse will increase or decrease cyclic, making the aircraft fly faster forward or revers.
Mouselook Steering
Mouselook steering can be activated with the m command or on the HUD pressing Mouse Steer or M.
Deactivated you can fly in mouselook using the normal keyboard controls as described above.
When activated and when in mouselook the vehicle will try to turn such that it points in the same direction as your camera.
Arrows left and right will make the aircraft strafe.
When out of mouselook the aircraft can be controlled with your keyboard normally as explained above.
///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Cargo Hook System
There are two scripts in the package 'cargo cable script (everyone)' & 'cargo cable script (owner)'.
Add one of these scripts to the object you want to lift.
'cargo cable script (owner)' will only allow the object owner to lift it 'cargo cable script (everyone)' will allow anyone to lift the cargo.
Beware, when the script is added to vehicles this can cause undesirable effects and should be deleted after lifting.
To lift objects, hover approx. 10 meters above the object and say 'hook' in the chat or press the Cargo Hook button on your HUD.
///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
To enable vice you will have to add the VICE AMA sensor - 150HP v1.2.0 to the contents on the helicopter using the edit tool.

I really want to like this. But it needs some serious work!.
I bought this as a group vehicle for my RP sim to sit on top of my fire department. It's a beautiful helicopter. With the detail you want on SL. Amazing textures and materials. That's the good part. The bad part is the operation of this Helicopter. Most users on SL have grown used to being able to click on something and get some kind of interaction. Not with this darn thing. It just sits there. Dead. Nothing, nadda. So pull out the notecard and figure out all the commands making it less than optimal for someone to just jump in and fly on an RP style sim. Then there's the hud. WHAT A MESS! The hud tries to do way too much and accomplishes very little in the process and it's MASSIVE. I have a 4K monitor on my system to use SL with. This hud plasters 75% of the viewable area for it's rather HUD glass cockpit overlay that you would never find in the average in service Jet Ranger. Simplify the hud. Make it smaller. And god help you if you have a laptop or something. Make the copter at least scream RTFM when you click on it so people think that it's not some static display prop.
I can certainly use it but can my sim visitors is the question? I'm leaning on the no end of this.
This is probably going to be yet another toy only pulled out for rare occasions. It really could be way more than that. I might try my hand at an info station to see if people figure it out. I doubt it though. Great helicopter that would sell way more if the creator took the time to understand how actual SL users interact with objects. A true shame as these would sell in massive numbers if they weren't so hard to work with.
Wonderful
I'm new to flying and this helicopter is easy to fly. Wonderful detail just a fantastic helicopter. They are so wonderful I am going to buy the Bell 429. Thank you for the great job you have done!
