Blind Ambition offers the finest quality scripted window blinds and shutters in Second Life!
Blinds and shutters are only 1 prim each. Appearance can be changed by touch, remote switch, chat (or any combination thereof) for individual objects, linked groups, or objects on the same chat channel! (Note: Because of known rendering problems in Second Life with transparent objects placed in close proximity (alpha-Z-buffer issues), Blind Ambition blinds and shutters should be used *instead* of windows. They should not be placed in front or behind existing transparent windows (or other transparent objects) as they may not be render properly. The SL alpha rendering bug is further
described and illustrated in the Second Life public issue tracking tool, JIRA, in article #VWR-27. (https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-27) If you would like a sample (no copy) to test before your purchase, please contact Ayam Merlin.)
perfect
mod and 4 positions. i linked them with a window and they're perfect for me.
Works great in my Linden Home
I found these very easy to work with to resize and in all cases in my linden home (which had small, medium and large windows) the resized product looked nice. The LOD on these is very good as well, they keep their shape nicely at a reasonable distance.
There is a config card that is rather complicated and very poorly documented, and I am sure that causes confusion to people not use to scripting and/or working with configuration cards. But the default configuration was actually what most people (including myself) would want, so it isnt necessary to bother with figuring out the config card parameters.
I did find that linking them did not reduce LI at all, so the 1/2 LI claim is inaccurate... probably caused by LL changing the LI calculations from when this was created (I have seen that happen to other older mesh items as well). However, 1 LI per window is still fantastic. It is hard to find functioning window covers/curtains that open/close for less that 2 LI per window. I was working in a 512 Newbrooke where LI is very limited, so the lower cost per window was very important to me.
I suspect that the negative reviews from people who had trouble fitting the blinds to their windows were people who are not very familiar with the SL Editor.. to me it was extremely easy to shape to any window, and worked well.
I LOVE how they have 4 states of open form fully open to fully closed. I also like how you can link them to a controller (looks like a wall switch so is nice as a decoration) and open/close multiple blinds at the same time.
I am actually extremely happy with these blinds and told a few of my LL home decorator buddies about them. I do recommend them highly.
It's work, but....
It's work, i have about 10 installed in my Linden home. But if you are a newbie on SL like me, and not a compute genius, then to use the features offers by those blinds it's complicated. Unfortunately so I have to open/close them individually. He provide a notecard with some basic explanation but still if you are new SL user, then forget that we just can't figure out! so yes good blinds, but need to be a computer genius to use the features offers by those blind. I give 3 stars for not making it more friendly for all users, and not only for computer or SL genius !
fits EVERY surface?.......... ehhh not!
It does NOT fit any surface.
I resized the curtains and they get really REALLY ugly.
And the windows are coming right trough the blinds, like they are suddenly moved to the front of the blinds.... Im sorry but i think this was a waste of my lindens. 1 star....... thats all it gets
Very Good!
Had a problem..contacted the seller...he replied fast with the solution. They look lovely...recommend!
