A Robe à l’Anglaise Retroussée
A variation of the more formal Robe à la Polonaise, this style is essentially a Robe à l’Anglaise (or English dress) with the skirt gathered at the back—emulating the Polonaise look, but with a more relaxed cut. It is shorter for ease of walking and has less voluminous panniers (hoops) uses less fabric overall, making it a more affordable option.
