This box contains four types of gas/smoke grenades for use with Mercy HUDs. When you rez one of these grenades, a few seconds later it begins spraying clouds of particles. The grenade also triggers animations and impairments on the HUDs. The effects vary depending on the option chosen. All avatars with a HUD within 10 meters are automatically affected.
-Laughing Gas: Causes laughing emote, then causes the victim's eyes to appear sleepy and impairs movement.
-Tear Gas: Impairs avatar's breathing (SpO2 level), then impairs movement.
-Smoke: Causes the avatar's SpO2 level to drop (impaired breathing). If it drops low enough (repeated/prolonged exposure, the avatar may become impaired or pass out. Also may trigger asthma (if set on the HUD).
-Sleep Gas: First impairs the victim's movement and causes "sleepy eyes", then puts the victim to "sleep" (plays passed out animation, avatar can't move).
All of the effects wear off in a few minutes (unless you rez multiple grenades in the same area). Mercy equipment like gas masks, etc, provide protection against this type of effect, but if multiple grenades are rezzed close by, even your protection may become overwhelmed.
