Bright Flight is a HUD or "head up display" with the following features:
* Flight to any height: breaks through Second Life flight ceiling
* Hovering at any height: eliminates slow drift downwards from high altitudes
* High speed flight: rocket into the sky, or cross a SIM in a few seconds
* Low speed flight: allowing precise movement and control
* Powered walking: walk or run across land at speed and with force
* Automated ascent: automatically fly to your chosen altitude
* Automated landing: one-click flies you fast to precisely ground level
* Wall/floor walking: walk *through* most walls, floors and ceilings
* Sound effects: optional/variable volume, during powered hovering and flight
* Information console: with speedometer and compass
* On-screen buttons: allowing most features to be reached with a single click
* One-button mode: click for menu - hides console and buttons
* Chat commands: all features available by chat *or* by button *or* by menu
Simply rez the box, right-click and select "Open" and "Copy to inventory". Then open your Inventory, find the folder called "Bright Flight boxed #005", right-click the object inside called "Bright Flight #171", and select "Wear". The HUD will then appear in the bottom left of your screen.
If you'd like it somewhere else on your screen, instead of "Wear" select "Attach To HUD" and then choose its location from the menu.
PLEASE REMOVE ANY OTHER FLIGHT-ASSIST! Wearing two flight-assist products can cause very strange results.
--- THE HUD ---
The HUD is divided into three parts.
At the top is the text display. This tells you your current speed, position, and Bright Flight's settings. Behind the text is an eight-pointed star. This is a compass, and the brightest point will always point north: so if you are facing north, it will point up, or if you are facing east, it will point to the left.
At the bottom are 12 buttons, which allow you to control Bright Flight, and are described below.
In the centre is a large black button showing the words "Bright Flight". Clicking this button calls up a blue dialog-box style menu in the top right of your screen, which shows the same information as the text display, and offers the same options as the buttons. You can use this menu if you have hidden the buttons, or the text display, to save screen space.
The centre button also carries a red/green indicator light: click this to switch Bright Flight on and off.
--- THE POWER BUTTONS ---
The first three buttons are orange, and control the amount of power the HUD will give you while you move.
1) VPOWER: The first orange button shows an avatar flying straight up, and controls *vertical* air power: how quickly you will climb and descend while flying.
2) HPOWER: The second orange button shows an avatar flying fowards, and controls *horizontal* air power: how quickly you will fly straight ahead.
3) LPOWER: The third orange button shows an avatar walking, and controls *land* power: how quickly you will walk or run over land.
Each button is divided is divided in half. The brighter, upper half *increases* power, and the darker lower half *decreases* power.
The power settings are OFF, MIN, LOW, HIGH and MAX.
OFF means that Bright Flight will not power that kind of movement. For instance, if LPower is OFF, you will not have any extra power while you walk over land.
MIN provides very little power. In their air, this will actually fly you *slower* than usual. This is very useful if you want to control your flight precisely: if you are flying through a built-up area, for instance.
LOW and HIGH move you increasingly quickly, and MAX moves you very quickly indeed. With an HPower of MAX, you can fly across a SIM in a few seconds: though of course, at such speed, you don't get to see much on the way :)
--- THE CONTROL BUTTONS ---
Next are three blue control buttons.
1) FLOAT: The first blue button carries a picture of a hot air balloon. It switches support for floating on and off.
In Second Life, except at very low altitude, if you hover in the air you will gradually sink towards the ground. Float stops this happening, allowing you to hover without losing height. Normally, you would keep float on: but you can disable it if you wish.
2) CLIMB: The second blue button shows a picture of a plane flying straight up. Click this to see a menu of the following altitudes: 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600, 750, 1000, 2000, 3000, 4000 and 5000. Click one of these to fly automatically to that height. You can cancel the automatic flight at any time by pressing your "Page Up" or "Page Down" flight controls.
Note: if you aren't flying when you select this, you
Artikel in Second Life anzeigenit's not bad.. but the fast walk is clumsy.. pushing downwards rarely works... Flying up only to fall straight down again seems pointless too
Every newbie knows these things, and you can get them for free all over the place. But they will never get so convienent as this one. I really love the sound your making in flight and hover (you can turn it off), but most of all i like the way everything works straight from the hud. And once your familiar with the procedings, you just clean everything up, and your left with a one button hud. I think that it's worth every linden.
