Himalayan Salt lamps are said to be natural negative ion generators.

-Negative ions are usually generated in nature by lightening storms, sunlight, waterfalls, and ocean waves.

-Positive ions are often created by electronic devices like computers, TVs, microwaves ect. These positive ions can bog us down and aggravate allergies, sleep problems and stress.

How Salt Lamps work:

Salt is "hygroscopic", this means it attracts water to its surface; and this water evaporates quickly due to the small amount of heat from the light inside the lamps core. Negative ions are generated during the evaporation process.

Negative ions bond with positive ions naturally, thus helping to alleviate many issues and purify the air from certain molds and bacteria.
