A Genuine Carbon Copy: MGB Roadster

Welcome back to the days of no fuss Happy Motoring.

Ah, the heady, carefree days of driving the quiet highways and byways - wind in your hair and lovely young lady (or man) by your side.

Climb in the driver's seat of this classic, lovingly restored from a few rusting pixels discovered languishing in an old outhouse, and regain your lost youth (when you had hair to blow in the wind - in the case of our older male drivers only, I hasten to add), or alternatively, experience what your parents enjoyed and had to give up when you came along and made their owning a two seater totally impractical due to the impossibility of fitting a pram in the back.

The gutsy 1800 cc litre leaded petrol engine utilises the DT vehicle script to achieve 0-60mph in a stunning 12.2 seconds, and the additional scripting provides a large range of colour options. Touch the handbrake, gearstick or sidelights and you will be presented with options to change body and seat colour, protect yourself from inclement weather, swap the wheel style between wire spokes, rostyle, and plain hubcaps, and even turn the lights on to drive at night!

CONTROLS
Up arrow - Forward
Down arrow - reverse
Left/right arrow - steer
Page Up - Change gear up
Page Down - Change gear down
Touch the doors to open/close for easier access. Touching the boot latch will open/close both doors at the same time.

Channel 911 is for additional commands.
Type /911 in Local Chat followed by:
i to start the engine sound;
s to stop the engine sound;
h for the horn;
r to rev the engine

Note: Your AO may clash with the driver/passenger anim so I suggest you deactivate it on getting into the car.

A follow-on to my previous vehicle efforts in SL and a project given as much loving care and attention as I would devote to the RL version. It will grace your driveway and turn heads when you take it out on the open road.

I hope you like it. The other vehicles available are the Carbon Copy Sprite, Carbon Copy Spitfire, and the MGB's little sister, the Carbon Copy Midget.

Do not buy...

...before contacting the creator, to make sure he is around. I bought this car on Mar. 01, 2014. It's well made, which is why I gave it the 1 star, but it will not give me the menu to change colors, or put the top up, or any other options. I sent the Creator, Carbon Philter, a notecard a day or 2 later, with no response at all. So, buyer beware.

Beautifully crafted

The MGB roadster looks fantastic and was clearly a labour of love. Detail is great, sharp and true to the original. The rostyle wheels certainly brought back memories of the real thing! Customer service was also excellent (I had a few issues with such as accessing the menu but I am certain that this was one of those typical sl glitches and NOT anything to do with the design. Carbon helped sort it very quickly). If you are looking for a classic car with style then this has to be on your short list :)

I like this, i like it alot. I own an MGB, and it's just about completely spot on. The only drawback from it's real world companion is the turning. I pride my own MGB on how responsive it's turning is.
Otherwise, i highly recomend this vehicle to anyone who enjoys the destictive body lines of a british automobile
