When creating an urban environment in Second Life, as with any project Land Impact is a major constraint. Often it simply isn't necessary or practical to have an entire area containing fleshed out buildings each with furnished interiors.
These filler buildings aim to help create that modern/scifi city environment and fill the space without having to compromise on Land Impact usage.
Made entirely from mesh and textured with both normal and specular maps, the buildings manage to remain easy on the viewer while still looking detailed.
At night or in the dark the building's materials come into their own as thanks to the use of emissive mapping on the windows, they appear lit without the need for fullbright.
Land impact of each piece (at default scale) measures between 1 and 2 LI
Each building measures 16m by 16m with heights ranging from 5m to 30m (rooftop plate 1.5m in height).
Each facade/edge piece measures 16m by 2m with heights matching their counterpart buildings.
Includes 14 Pieces:
6 buildings ranging from 1-6 stories in height
6 facades (ie just the front of the building)
1 rooftop piece
1 rooftop edge/facade
- Materials - normal & specular
- Tintable textures with redundant materials for easy modification
- Included facade versions for augmenting existing builds
- Low land impact - 1 prim for most, 2 prim for large buildings
- Emissive window textures - windows appear lit in dark conditions
Low LI and Modify? YAS
Another home run by Greeble. You can modify these, change the textures, heigh, width, everything. Add pieces, remove them, and all while keeping a low LI. Can't beat that.
Really useful.
These may look pretty simple in the pic and they are, just in a good way. Resizeable and perfect for adding to builds and areas.
