This is a replica of the t-shirt worn by Jason "Hawk" Hawkins, as seen in the allready classic "Cloverfield" trailer and on the website http://www.1-18-08.com.
"Hawk" is the brother of Rob, the "main dude" who is given a surprise send off-party since he is going to Japan. Or at least that was the plan untill something ripped the head of the Statue of Liberty and hurled it straight into Manhattan...
Is Rob going to Japan to work for Slusho? It IS a japanese company, according to their website: http://www.slusho.jp/
Or is Slusho somehow involved in the events taking place in NY? The Slusho site speaks of a "secret ingredinent" that turns "little fish" into "big whales", and Slusho is appearently a subsidiarie of the mysterious and omnipresent Tagurato Corp:
