This style house is based on those used at the locks along the Canal du Midi in France. To see similar houses in SL, see the two locks in Ville de Coeur. However, this house is not limited to use as a lockhouse. It is a one bedroom house that fits within a 16m x 16m plot. Total land impact and script load is low.
Coeur Lockhouse has two floors with traditional staircase between floors. The upper floor has space for one bedroom and one bathroom, with a sitting area at the top of the stairs. The bottom floor has a separate room that could be used as an office or dining area. There is a door in the front and rear of the building. Both sides of the building are similar so either side could be the main entrance (in Ville de Coeur, the main entrance faces the road and the back entrance faces the lock).
The doors can be locked and auto-close timing is adjustable or can be disabled. Internal and external doors can be configured separately.
Privacy through the windows is provided by the shutters, which can be opened or closed. The shutters can be any of 4 colors. The upper and lower level shutters can be configured separately.
