The Colonnade Skybox is the ultimate luxury in above ground living and has been designed to provide the optimum SL living experience in a totally self contained construct
.As an architect, I strive in all my house designs to match the functions of the house with the living behaviours associated with Second Life. For me, this means that certain functions found in Real Life such as kitchens and bathrooms are ‘de trop’ as it is not possible to eat or perform ablutions in a virtual paradigm.
Without doubt though, I feel that because of the fun element required in SL life, there must always be certain options such as a private space, hot tub or access to water so that companionable activities may be shared with the avatars of our friends and partners.
We do not sleep either in Second Life and although one might argue that there is no need for a bedroom in the conventional sense, I think what is of overriding importance is the allocation of a private space for intimacy and privacy.
This build is influenced by roman classical architecture and it is worth noting that because of the attention to detail given to the exterior of this skybox it will function just as well as a standalone house on your land. It is particularly suitable for dense urban areas as the opaque exterior allows close proximity with neighbours without compromising privacy.

As well as paying attention to detail in the creation of the unique textures employed in this build I have given the Colonnade Skybox a number of special features that offer both comfort and entertainment.
Front Door
The front door is a copy of the Ghiberti doors in the Baptistery in Florence and presents an imposing entry to a beautiful residence. Access is set via the home controller inside the door which only the owner had access to.
Ground floor
Upon entering the spacious entrance hall you will note that five rooms are arranged around a grey mosaic circular social area which is ideal for parties and dancing. The walls are decorated with an ancient mural depicting feasting and pleasure and a large circular skylight floods this pleasing interior with natural light
Four of the five rooms are very large and make ideal sleeping, living and work areas. The fifth is half the size and is ideal for a bathroom or hot tub.
The rooms are separated by stucco walls inset with antique roman glass and single draw antique tapestry curtains allow movement between rooms.
My patented click and hold curtains allow you to change from a swagged (open) mode to a tapestry foil (closed) mode to create privacy either totally in the round or on a room by room basis.
Upper floor
The upper floor is designed to provide a recreational space under a number of contexts. It comes with a beautiful magnolia tree, some shrubs and an elegant fountain.
IYou may choose to create one mode that is suited to your own interests such as a garden, party space, stud farm, riding circuit, driving track or sports area or you may choose to vary the activities depending on mood and season.
The click and hold texture changer will aid you in the choice of environments you create by offering a choice of: Glass, Snow, Sand or Water textures to cover the central transparent glass skylight. This means you can endlessly vary the activities you undertake. A few suggestions from friends include ice skating, winter wonderland, ornamental pond, sunbathing on a beach or by water, sandwriting or sailing.
The property is shown furnished for display purposes. Art work and furniture not included excepting: Fountain, Magnolia, Yellow Shrubs and Circular Curtain (bedroom) Hot Tub. Optional furniture total is 20 prims
