The shades in Color Set 1 are darker than the shades of the companion set, Color Set 2. This set includes red, orange, yellow, two greens, two blues, purple, and dark gray. The word "darker" here is relative, they are still fairly bright, and definitely "bold".
I envision these as fabric. I am thinking sheets, quilts, sofas, drapes, or anything wearable.
