The comet doesn't do anything, it just sits in the sky. It's mod and copy so that you can add scripts if you want to.
Two versions are supplied: You have the texture that you can use with your own builds, or there's the comet object which can be placed up to 32m offsim.
When you rez´the object, you can move the comet off sim until the move arrows are at the edge of the sim. If you try to go further off sim it'll disappear.
Remember, most people have their draw distance set to 128m or less, so don't set it too high in the sky or no one will see it
