An undercroft is traditionally a cellar or storage room, often brick-lined and vaulted, and used for storage in buildings since medieval times. In modern usage, an undercroft is generally a ground (street-level) area which is covered by the building above.

This undercroft will allow homes the be placed level on parcels that are uneven and cannot be leveled while providing usable space underneath the home. It was designed for homes that are 27m x 28.5m but may be modified for larger homes by removing sections of railing.

It has be designed to be sunk into a hillside so that a stable platform is provided for the home. This means that the rear of the undercroft should be filled with soil! Try to place the undercroft in such a way that the soil does not block the internal doors. Create a prim wall to block off that section.

Two rooms of considerable size will be left. One is a den and the other is a garage, but the structure can be modified to meet your needs.

A ramped driveway and a set of external stairs have been provided. Both are designed to be sank partially in the ground and to coordinate with the undercroft.

A retracting garage door has also been included.

Make your home unique!

  • External stairs to the undercroft platform
  • A ramped driveway with raised sides
  • A retracting garage door
