[CrocTeh] Advanced Lighting System

Welcome to the Advanced Lighting System — a versatile and dynamic lighting controller for your Second Life builds. This system allows you to manage lighting effects like on/off states, glow, intensity, radius, falloff, and even sunlight automation with a user-friendly in-world menu.

All configuration is handled through an included Notecard — no scripting knowledge is needed!

The Builders Kit comes COPY TRANSFER OK.

Creator-Friendly (FULL PERM License):
You may resell or give away this script as part of your own creations.

Fully Editable: Modify, rebrand, and incorporate into your own products.

No Encryption / No Closed Source.

License: You may NOT resell this script standalone or in full-perm script packs.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Setup Instructions
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

• Add the Script & Notecard
- Rez or edit your object (linkset) where you want the lighting system.
- If you want a particular object in your link set to be the Light Switch, simply add the script and notecard in that object.

• Drag & drop the following into the object's contents (Inventory Tab):
- Script: CrocTech Advanced Lighting Script
- Notecard: Settings (This notecard will hold your bulb names)

• Configure the Notecard
- Open the notecard named Settings inside the object’s inventory. You'll see something like this:

bulbName = bulb

What is “bulbName”?
This is the name of the prim(s) that will act as the light-emitting bulbs.

You can change "bulb" to match the name of your light prims in the linkset.

Example:
If your bulb prims are named "CeilingLight", change the notecard to:

bulbName=CeilingLight

• Save the notecard after editing.

The script will automatically detect changes and reload the configuration after every save!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2. Naming Your Light Prims
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

• Edit your object, select the prim(s) you want to act as bulbs.

• Name them exactly as specified in the notecard's bulbName value (Case sensitive!)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3. How to Use the Light Controls
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Simply touch (click) the object to bring up the Lighting Menu.

You’ll see options like:

• Light On — Turns the light on.
• Light Off — Turns the light off.
• Light Sun — Makes the light respond to SL's day/night cycle.
• Glow — Adjusts how much the bulb glows.
• Intensity — Controls brightness of the light.
• Falloff — Adjusts how the light fades with distance.
• Radius — Sets how far the light reaches.
• Show Settings — Displays current light settings in chat.
• Exit — Closes the menu.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sun-Controlled Lighting (Auto Day/Night)
When you select "Light Sun", the light will automatically:

Turn on at night.
Turn off during the day.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Adjusting Light Properties

For Glow, Intensity, Falloff, and Radius:

You'll see -- and ++ buttons to decrease/increase values.

The settings update live so you can preview in real-time.

Press Back to return to the main menu.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You can copy and use this system in any of your builds.
You cannot modify the script, but the Notecard gives you full control over prim naming for bulbs.
This system supports multiple objects using their own individual settings via their own Settings notecards.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

That's it — you're all set to enjoy dynamic, customizable lighting for your projects without touching a single line of script code.
