Coast 2 Coast driving action! Grab your girl and hop behind the wheel of a powerful convertible, zooming down the highways at ludicrous speed! Can you outrace your friends? Do you have the reflexes to stay in the groove and avoid road hog slowpokes? Get ready to CRUISE.
Cruise Control is an early 90s style colorful racing game, designed for competitive racing action for 1-4 players. It features traditional 8-bit engine sounds as well as a running, constantly shifting soundtrack of 8-bit music -- three selections to choose from (or race quietly). Four tracks with varying scenery from oceans to desert canyons are available to master.
You set the price per game, which goes into your pocket -- or you can set it to Free Play. High scores are trackable using optional 1 prim scoreboards. All parts are Copy OK (no mod, no trans) and since you can rez anywhere from 1-4 cars, you can choose to spend the minimum of 14 prims (one car, tracker) or a maximum of 42 prims (four cars, tracker, high score board). It's up to you! If you'd like to have this game give ticket rewards which your patrons can convert into prizes, use the optional "Arcade Ticket and Prize System", on sale at Insert Coin Arcade.

CURRENT VERSION: 3.0. October 26, 2007. Initial public release.
New feature for all games in 2008: If the top score gets knocked off the high score board, the game will IM them to let them know who their new rival is! Great for encouraging return visits! (If you own an earlier version of the scoreboard, free upgrades are available at Insert Coin Arcade.)

Still works fine.
This was one of my favorite games from years ago, I was surprised to see reviews saying it didn't work. Thankfully, they're wrong. It works just fine. You need to rez the race tracker even if you only rez one racing cabinet. This detail IS mentioned in the instructions. This game never used Flash or HTML. It basically uses a moving sprite. Thus, the game works well even in laggier sims. Pay to start, or click if you set it to free play, go into mouselook mode, and use the arrow keys to move your car into the green zone.
The cabinet is a bit prim-heavy is the only downside, but this game was created before meshes even existed so I can't fault them for that.
- TLDR: This works, it's a real working multiplayer racing game in SL that doesn't use flash or html or rely on any external websites for its functionality. It's a FUN game, well worth a purchase. Make sure to read the instructions.
Try the in-world demo if you aren't sure, it's at the 7seas headquarters.

Game Looks Good...That is About It!
Easy to set up and change options. BUT, sit down and prepare for a race....says race will begin shortly and guess what the race never starts. Too bad, could have been a fun game. As a sim owner, I expect what I put on my sim to work. Glad it was set to free mode because if the game doesn't work, I have to give refunds and it makes people think about coming back to the sim. I would not put this game on any of my sims.
