THE DRAGON

Version 10a Victor Cruiser Sails design (10April2012)

The Dragon was designed by Johan Anker in 1929. The original design had two berths and was ideally suited for cruising in his home waters of Norway. The boat quickly attracted owners and within ten years it had spread all over Europe.

In 1937 the Gold Cup was presented to the class by the Clyde Yacht Club Association. This quickly became one of the principal championships in the class and a prestigious trophy in the world of competitive yachting

THE BWind WIND ENGINE

This boat has her own wind engine that defaults to an East Wind of 15 Knots. To set your own wind say in chat your preferred wind direction like :

n, s, e, w, nw, ne, sw, se

(for example just type 'nw' without quotes for a NorthWest wind).

You may choose 4 wind speed presets : 8, 11, 15, 18, 21, 25 Knots... once again say in chat your preferred speed...

(for example just type '18' without quotes for an 18 Knots Wind).

3) SAILING

Type 'help' (without quotes) in chat for a brief list of commands...

Becky's BBK - 1-37-30 (Release) whispers: SAY IN CHAT...

raise - start sailing
lower - lower sails (press arrow keys to move around)
moor - stop sailing

n,s,e,w,nw,ne,sw,se - set BWind direction
8,11,15,18,21,25 - set BWind speed
id nnaa (ex. 12AB) - set boat ID
hud - hud switch (standard/advanced)

HUD colour shows trim settings :
|>><<| red = too loose - |><| yellow = off optimum -
|=| green = optimum - |<>| cyan = too tight

this should be pretty self explanatory... here follows a more detailed explanation of sailing commands :

- RAISE

To start sailing type 'raise' (without quotes) in chat. The Mainsail and Jib will appear and the boat will move forward according to her position relative to the wind. The boat, by default, will activate a 15 Knots West Wind preset... you have only to press left and right arrow keys to activate the rudder... and up and down arrows to trim sails...

- LOWER

When you want to pause your sail, but keep boat's physics on and running type 'lower' (without quotes) in chat. The boat will slowly stop. You may wish to move around using the four arrows keys. This comes out handy when you need to moor in a narrow harbour, or if you get stuck in a shallow channel.

- MOOR

To completely stop the boat engine type 'moor' (without quotes) in chat. The boat will stop completely. At this point you may stand up or raise again.

- ID

If you want to funrace this boat from an active SL raceline just type 'id' followed by any text in chat (without quotes); the raceline will automatically recognize your boat.

- HUD

This boat features as Standard and an Advanced textual HUD - To switch say 'hud' without quotes in chat.
The HUD features a Symbolic System to help those who can't distinguish colours well :

|>><<| red = too loose - |><| yellow = off optimum -
|=| green = optimum - |<>| cyan = too tight

4) SETTING BWind WIND

The boat features 6 speed presets (8, 11, 15, 18, 21, 25 knots) and 8 wind directions presets... (N,S,W,E,NW,NE,SW,SE);

To activate a BWind wind preset you type in chat the initial of cardinal point direction you need (like 'ne' without quotes) and the speed you want (like '11' without quotes).
The boat defaults to a 15 Knots, West wind preset.

The BWind fully supports Apparent Wind.

5) CREWING

The Baby Sloop features a crewing pose. To crew right click on the boat and sit
