Weimar! Presents;
Curtain with railing
---------------------
*ABOUT THE OBJECT:
This very basic mesh curtain is perfect for everyone looking for a little privacy... as far as that exists in SL.
Put it in front of your windows and people won't be able to look inside your house without 'camming'.
Because this is a mesh item it has the details of something that would normally use up about 14 prims but only counts as 1 prim.
It is also very easy to change the textures.
You get 4 curtains, one is public (anyone can open it) and one is private (only you can open it), and you get them each closing both ways.
They both have copy permissions and edit permissions so you can make as many curtains that look and work just the way you want them in any size or length.
*ABOUT ME:
I am a Dutch woman obsessed with history, in RL I am a researcher.
Europe in the first half of the 20th century, inspires me especially Germany during the Weimar Republic (1918-1933).
The objects I create are especially made for The 1920s Berlin Project sim where many of the tenants often have to live in small houses and bad neighbourhoods.
More below.
*SCALE:
Most avatars and sims in SL have a totally unrealistic scale.
I hate this.
My avatar is about 6ft, just like I am in RL, compared to most avatars in SL I look like a child.
I build a sim in a more realistic scale and compared to SL in general things here are small.
That means that the objects I make are made for realistic avatars, if they seem small to you this probably is because you are very big.
*INSTRUCTIONS
-Choose between the public curtain that everyone can open and the private one that only you can open.
-Rez the item called 'Curtain with railing mesh' by dragging it from your inventory onto the wall or floor.
-Right click and select 'edit' to move it or rotate into the desired position by clicking and moving the coloured arrows.
-Use this same window to change the size of the curtain by selecting stretch.
If you just want to change the curtain and not the railing, make sure you select 'Edit linked' and click the curtain.
You can even choose to delete the curtain rail or curtain and just use the one or the other by clicking 'unlink'.
-Left click the curtain to open or close it.
-Simply drag textures from your inventory onto the curtain or railing to change them, I have given the curtain 2 different sides so you can have a different texture on both sides!
-You can even choose to remove the curtain rail.
-Just to give you even more options, I've made the script inside the curtain editable, so you can play around with it to make it work just the way you want it.
To do this, right click and edit the curtain, choose "edit linked" in your build window and choose the 'content' tab.
You should see a script inside called "Curtain script".
Double click or right click and open to edit the script.
The things you can tweak can be found on lines 22 to 27.
*PRIMS/LAND IMPACT:
Land impact; 1 prim.
0.8 Download
0.6 Physics
1.2 Server
1020 Display
In short, they will only count as 1 prim.
*ABOUT MESH
If you make Mesh items bigger, they will usually start having a bigger land impact and cost you more prims.
The item should look good but from a certain distance it may look distorted.
To make sure you see mesh in SL at well as possible, you may need to change the settings of your viewer.
This generally isn't needed but if you think that mesh often looks a bit bad, you may try this;
-Click ctrl+D to add the 'advanced' tab to the options at the top of your screen.
-Click 'show debug settings'
-In the Debug Settings look for 'MeshMaxConcurrentRequests' and change the value to 128, this will not have an impact on how SL will work for you but it will make mesh look better.

Best window curtains in all of SL!
Low prim, re-textureable so you can make them as you like, easy to resize as needed. What's not to like? The first and last curtains you'll ever need!
Wonderful to have
These work great with the home and they are wonderful to have to keep the sun out of my eyes when I need.
Wonderful!
I was a little hesitant about the price, but I am so glad to have them. Love that they do not overwhelm a window, don't clock the view when open and double love the ability to retexture to suit any furniture style and colour scheme. Added delight to find they fit my windows perfectly without any adjustment...and one prim? wow! Fab when you have a lot of windows!
Realistic, the perfect copy/mod curtains
I love these curtains. The curtain rod is realistic looking, as are the curtains. All can be modified to suit your needs, color or size wise. I will never buy other curtains again. The private/public open and close permissions is a neat feature, if you'd like it to act like a door or insure no one can mess with your window privacy.
