First:

Choose either the 'Keysteer' or 'Mousesteer' clutch script and place it into a child prim.

Second:

Replace the CORE D2 Script with the new one.

Third: [Optional]

You can link the digital mesh gear+clutch indicator to your car.

Controls:

E / PAGE UP = ShiftUP
C / PAGE DOWN = DownShift
LMB = Clutch

The clutch operates just like in real life, so;

1. Press and hold the clutch button.
2. Shift to the gear of your choice.
3. Release the clutch button.

If you do it correctly: You should have been able to successfully shift/clutch to the gear you want.

If you do not do it correctly: You end up Grinding the gears. Meaning a delay in your gear change/shift.

To repair gearbox:

If you want to *repair* your gearbox to the original stats:

Simply stop your car, click on the child prim where the clutch script is and give it some time to repair, depending on the amount of damage.

If you want to change the color simply change the color code in the Gear indicator's object's description.
