These earrings are made from gold strips formed into loops with a twist to make mobius bands. In mathematics the mobius band is characterized by there being only one side to the object. One side twists around and forms the other side. This means there is only one side.
The earrings represent the hope that humanity will someday all align on the same side, where we belong. Also there's the connotation of being a little bit twisted ;)
Either way, wear them and look good :D
