Does anybody really know what time it is? Does anybody really care?
I was role playing in the Splintered Rock estate. It's a desert there, Spice Mining (as in Dune) and part of the game is staying hydrated. Water for the game was scarce, you had to pull it from the air with vaporators or trade for it or simply buy it outright.
I discovered, much as in real life, that water loss was lower at night. It was more efficient to go out under the cover of darkness so I would consume less water.
So I found a script on an LSL help site that calculated the 'time' in Second Life.
A "day" cycle is 3 hours and 30 minutes. So there are three hours of daylight, then sunset, then thirty minutes of night, then sunrise. Then it all repeats.
All this little guy does is attach to your HUD screen and tell you what time it is in SLT, where you are in the SL Sun Cycle, and how long until sunrise or sunset. Nothing fancy.
