Thomson’s Gazelle (Gazella thomsonii)

Mounted specimen originating from the Serengeti plains, East Africa.
Its slender frame and elegant horns place it among the most striking examples of its kind, a creature shaped by open grasslands and long migrations.

Unlike other records, this entry was never logged in any official register. Instead, the plaque is marked simply as Private Inventory No. 12, suggesting a chain of ownership outside formal archives. Correspondence uncovered hints that its transfer was deliberate, kept off the books, and shielded from curators’ eyes.

The reverse of the mount bears a faint, unauthorized inscription. Whether it served as a warning, a reminder, or a mark of possession remains uncertain, but its presence confirms this specimen was never intended for public display.

Now it joins the company of other trophies, bound together not only by their origins but by the omissions and secrets they carry.
