Dream Machine

Relax your SL and your RL avatar with a nice audial and visual experience.

Lay back in your lounge, while meditative surround sound and visual stimulation sooth your brain.

Experiencing is believing it.

Requirements:
Mesh viewer with sound enabled - preferably stereo or headphones. The Dream Machine does not use parcel radio or other media streams.

Warning: If you suffer from epileptic attacks or other disorders caused by external stimuli, you should not use this product before consulting a medic. Usage is at own risk.

*** The technology for dream machines was secretly developed in the early 1970's. It was the result of various experiments with analog and fluid computers. It has been used for military training and for therapeutic experiments. Eventually it was classified as 'dangerous' because of it's apparent illegal use by zen buddists and lsd addicts, and the technology was discarded as 'irrelevant' by the military. However, in the underground hippy scene it's function was recognized and a few functional machines have been saved from destruction. Some abandoned machines have been recovered and restored in a working state. Using advanced modern virtualization techniques, a working replica of this magnificent machine is now available to all SL residents ***

Tips:
To adjust the camera to optimal position, just press the ´Escape´ key after sitting down.

To save camera position, as owner, sit down, adjust the camera as desired and type in local chat:

Program: Dream Machine :: Meditation 1
This relaxing program soothes the mood. After a 2-minute intro, with soothing voice, the program transposes into a computer-generated audial experience. Surround sounds with various atmospheres, from deligtful to intriguing, aid your mind to focus on your inner peace.
On the background, almost unnoticeable, is a stereo effect based on the ´meditative healing frequency´ of around 528Hz, with a 10Hz difference between left and right, aiding to bring your brain waves down to the optimal brain wave frequency of 10-13Hz.
Combined with a visual ´cloud fractal´ that brings changing images only limited to your fantasy, this is the ultimate tool for a meditative moment.
Length: as long you desire, 5-30 minutes per session suggested.

Supported viewers
This product is tested using a variety of viewers, on different operating systems. However, the result partly depends on your graphics hardware.
Should work on all viewers with mesh support.

Adding other scenes
This product is prepared to accept new 'scene' notecards. They are not yet available. Likely, new scenes will be sold as complete product, however, the option to exchange notecards and thereby combining your own favorite audial and visual experience is present.

Permissions
Copy permission - makes you eligible to obtain the latest version when updates appear.
Modify permission - want it full bright? Apply your own texture? Tinker with other details? Or even apply another sculpt as chair? Go ahead. Just beware not to modify the position of the hidden (transparent) objects that act as surround speakers.

Issues:
Problem: Sound / background music / is stuttering
Possible cause: slow network
Fix: Stand up and resit, previous played sounds will already be cached and the experience should be more smooth.

Problem: large 'triangle shapes' with slightly different colors and clear visible edge
Cause: So called 'Tearing'. This is caused by the many alpha layers your video card has to render, the order in which it does so may have impact on the result. Also, brand of video card, monitor refresh rate and game FPS rate may play a role.
Fix: Usually it disappears/blends in/ after a few second. You can try another viewer, or change graphics settings (in particular alpha-related). Synchronizing the video card with your monitor refresh rate might help (most cards got an option for that). In general, this phenomenon is not considered overly disturbing, and could be regarded as part of the experience ('abstract figures').

Problem: only sound, no visuals
Cause: A mesh capable viewer is needed. Please use a modern viewer.

I love this it's fantastic and I am hoping you will create more of them. It is so cool how the screen appears in the air as you sit down and how the lines on the lounger move. The price was great too and I like how you took the time to address any possible issues and instructions within you description here. Thank you.

Calming, and mixed

This was a very good product. Not only did it help calm a friend of mine down, it calmed me down as well. The video is soothing, and the music is so well-composed that it was a dream to listen to with headphones. Well worth the lindens, and I will be using it quite a bit.
