DreamBoat Signal Flags Mod
Note: This will add 14 prims to the boat, and one script. The script may be removed once the flags are set. If the installation is too complicated, give me a call and I'll help you do it.
Signal Flags are for sending messages from ship to shore or ship to ship.
They are also used for dressing a boat on special occasions to make the boats look more fun. You don't have to drive around 'dressed' all the time.
Installation.
1. Set rocking off (use Service Module).
2. Make sure rotation of the boat is at zero <0.00000, 0.00000, 0.00000>.
3. Turn off Scripts.
4. Rez the 'DreamBoat Signal Flags Mod v1.0' object (it's rotation will be at zero).
5. Copy to position of the boat from the edit window (press the capital 'C' next to the Position https://i.imgur.com/bbigJgk.png).
6. Edit the 'DreamBoat Signal Flags Mod v1.0' object, and paste the position by pressing the lowercase 'p' on the bottom https://i.imgur.com/DoUlRMw.png - this places the red cube in the exact spot of the boat.
7. Edit and select the red cube, then hold SHIFT and select the boat, then click the 'Link' button in the edit window.
8. Edit and check the Edit Linked box in the edit window, then left click the red cube, then click 'Unlink'.
9. Close Edit, and delete the red cube. The flags and wire are now in place on the boat.
10. Drop the !_Flags script into the root of the boat. Edit the boat and add it to Contents is the easiest.
11. Reset the scripts of the boat.
12. Set Scripts to Running, and wait about 3 minutes for all the Avsitter scripts to reload. When that has reached 100% and the hover-text disappears, the process is complete.
You can now take the boat back to inventory. Rename it if you wish.
To set the flags, click the Searchlight of the boat that is on the cockpit roof.
It will ask you to select a channel for the flags, type 'channel 3' for example.
Now click the Searchlight again, then type '/3 xxxxx' where xxxxx is your message. Alpha characters only (a to z) and spaces, no numbers, no special characters.
Typing '/3' with no massage will clear the flags.
To decipher a message that someone has sent, use the chart above the Clock inside the Dreamboat.
