This painting is called "Figures from a Dresden Past - Imagined".

A moment of perfectly suspended silence and beauty. Each window shows details of the life lived behind it.

Struck by inspiration one evening, I grabbed my sketchbook and pencil and sketched. This scene is entirely from my imagination, no reference images (a rarity for me).

I wanted to emulate a handpainted look with a simple inked outline. Hopefully, you agree, this is what I have achieved. Natural, imperfect textures were key to me in the process of painting this work.

At some point during the creation process of this work, it was pointed out to me that this looked like a typical, old German street scene. The name for this work came, from those conversations and confirmations.

This work is the fruit of many months of work for me. My first ever completed stylus work. Also my first ever project created using Krita.
