DRONE 166
==========
Drone 166 is a terrifying, versatile SL weapon capable of close protection, guarding and escorting the owner, while at a moment's notice it can change roles and become an offensive weapon capable of taking on any avatar threat within range (96 meters). If the skirmish should spread out over a wider area (i.e. if the attacker retreats to a greater distance) the attack can continue, and the drone can still be recalled anywhere in the sim, providing a direct return path is available. The sound of it alone will be sufficient to intimidate most aggressors.
To operate the Drone, first, wear the HUD. This should appear at the bottom of your screen center. Once worn, you may rez the HUD. These steps can still function in reverse order, but it's good to add the HUD first. Once the drone has rezed you can put the drone online.
NOTE: IN THE DEMO VERSION, MANY FUNCTIONS ARE DISABLED. ADDITIONALLY, FLIGHT TIME IS LIMITED TO 60 SECONDS ONLY. All these restrictions are of course removed in the full version.
ONLINE
-----------
This command activates the drone. You will hear start up sounds and see the engine ignite. After a few moments initialisation, the drone will take to the air a few meters away from you, and it's red camera 'eye' will illuminate. It is now listening for other commands.
TARGETING
-----------------
As it's name suggests, this function searches for potential targets in a 96 meter radius of your position. If you intend to 'Attack' or 'Orbit' an avatar you MUST select it for targeting first. This includes yourself, if you plan to use yourself as a test target. If ammunition rez's but does not activate, it's because you 'fired' without first explicitly nominating a target. When you select 'Targeting', a menu of possible targets appears in the top right corner of the screen for you to pick a name from. As soon as the name is chosen, the drone will fly to confront and intimidate the target, following them while it awaits further instruction from you.
If you fail to select a target, or allow the target menu to time-out (45 seconds) leaving the drone scanning the area, please select 'Recall' to notify the Drone that you want it's attention back for other commands.
ATTACK
------------
Selecting 'Attack' launches a machine gun attack on the targeted avatar. Attack sounds include faithful preparatory avionic sounds followed by machine gun bursts. At this point the guns fire shells, spills spent shell cartridge cases on the ground beneath it, displays muzzle flashes and kicks up a dust cloud around the targeted avatar as bullets impact into the ground around the target. In push enabled areas, it also knocks the target back. Note, if the target is in motion (walking, running or in a vehicle) it may be hard or impossible to hit the target. In this case, the 'Orbit' weapon is preferred.
ORBIT
---------
Orbit launches a heat seeking munition that homes in on the target. If the target runs, the munition will match their speed, chasing them until they stop, whereupon it collides with them and catapults them upwards. If they manage to keep running for 60 seconds, the munition is deemed to have run out of fuel and will cease the pursuit.
RECALL
------------
You may Recall the drone at any time, before, during or after an attack. The drone will teleport, instantly returning to your position in the region and resume close protection function, following you as you move around the region.
OFFLINE
-------------
Offline serves to deactivate the drone. You will hear the system power down, see the engine cease it's thruster, and the drone will settle onto the ground beneath it, and it's camera 'eye' will extinguish.
Caveats
-----------
In order to rez the drone you must (of course!) be on land that allows objects to be rezed. There must also be sufficient free prim allowance to rez the drone.
In order for the weapons to function as intended you must be in a push-enabled region.
The drone cannot cross region boundaries, nor can it's munitions.
Drone 166, while inspired by the famous Tom Cruise science-fiction movie "Oblivion", is in no way affiliated with the film or it's creators.

Amazing Demo but the Full Drone is Spectacular!
This is an amazing build, so like the film version, just as terrifying too. Lots of fun just as your bodyguard, but when you use it as a weapon it's just awesome. So intimidating! No one's going to argue with this. Love it. Yes, I had to buy the full version - definitely worth it!
