Great Job April!
YES, 2/5 SEEMS HARSH. PLEASE READ THE REVIEW BEFORE YOU CLICK 'NOT USEFUL'.
I've noticed in almost all of the reviews, looks are the main deciding factor on the rating. Yeah...the guns look great, but I'm seeing things a little differently than most buyers; if you don't care as much for looks as for the user experience, continue reading.
I was pumped to get a new pair of handguns...I was ready for a hard-hitting, intense visual/audio experience. Unfortunately, these guns sold short. First thing I noticed was a poorly made soundset (the reload sounds like it is from a freebie rifle I recieved when I first joined SL; the firing sound can be likened to a hammer hitting a nail with reverb), but I'm picky about sounds so you might not feel it takes much from the overall experience. Also, strange firing characteristics. For me, one bullet rezzes for every two gunshot sounds (relatively slowly at that). In addition, the bullets rez directly on the crosshairs, kind of taking away from the dual pistol effect. Also, a muzzle flash might be nice for effect.
The scripting obviously had a good bit of effort put into it, however; I'll give the creator(s) that. The animations are well-done and the guns definately are an excellent accessory (it's hard to find well-scaled guns like this in SL). I just wish it was more of an, for lack of a better word, epic experience. So I've given it a 3/5. I wasn't as pleased as I had expected to be, but I'm sure many of you out there will get much more out of these than I.
-Edit: No I did not see the gun in-world before I purchased it. I wouldn't have purchased if this were the case, so it is partly my fault for purchasing.
-Edit: After discussing my views, I found out customer service was the worst I've experienced as of yet. I was ejected from the Fulda Gap RP group after paying more than 4k for Omega Concern items and my points were ignored. This is what you get for honest reviews these days. Changed to 2/5.
These guns are well scripted, beautiful and very fun to use. They've been a wonderfully functional and decorative part of my avatar for more than 8 months. They work very well in combat and do exactly what the maker says they will do. I highly recommend a pair of these guns for anyone who enjoys the look and 'feel' of high detail, photo-realistic guns.
